Job Purpose

Sleekabyte is looking for a detail-oriented software testing intern to join our quality assurance team. This is not just about finding bugs; it's about championing quality from the inside out. You will gain hands-on experience in both manual and automated testing environments and work alongside developers and product managers to ensure our software solutions are robust, secure, and user-ready. If you are eager to learn the full software development lifecycle and turn your analytical eye into a career in quality engineering, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in executing functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT) across Sleekabyte's web and mobile applications.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects using industry-standard issue-tracking tools such as Jira.
  • Verify bug fixes through thorough retesting to ensure issues are fully resolved before product releases.
  • Create, maintain, and update test cases, test plans, checklists, and other quality assurance documentation.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement sessions, and testing reviews.
  • Assist in validating new features and enhancements to ensure they meet functional, usability, and performance requirements.
  • Support continuous quality improvement by identifying usability issues, edge cases, and opportunities to enhance the overall user experience.
  • Perform exploratory testing to identify usability issues and unexpected application behavior.
  • Collaborate with developers, designers, product managers, and other cross-functional teams to maintain high product quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Gain exposure to automated testing tools and frameworks, and assist in maintaining simple automated test scripts where appropriate.
  • Stay up to date with software testing best practices, QA methodologies, and emerging testing tools and technologies.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • A foundational understanding of software development and testing principles.
  • Familiarity with SDLC and Agile/Scrum methodologies (a strong advantage).
  • Basic exposure to tools like Jira, Postman, Selenium, or similar.
  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills with an obsession for detail.
  • A collaborative mindset and a strong willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
