RoboVolts Wins Clean Energy Innovation of the Year 2026 at the Welsh Enterprise Awards
Sleekabyte Technologies has been named the recipient of the Clean Energy Innovation of the Year 2026 award for RoboVolts at SME News’ Welsh Enterprise Awards.
The recognition highlights Sleekabyte Technologies’ contribution to clean energy innovation and reinforces Sleekabyte’s commitment to developing intelligent, technology driven solutions that support a more sustainable future. The award marks an important milestone in its work to apply digital technology to practical energy challenges.
Combining Clean Energy and Digital Technology
RoboVolts is designed to offer a more flexible alternative to conventional petrol and diesel generators, particularly for businesses and communities where grid electricity is unreliable or insufficient. The system combines mobile solar generation and battery storage with the RoboVolts Energy Management System which provides a digital way to monitor energy generation, battery performance and system activity.
This integration reflects the thinking behind RoboVolts: addressing energy challenges through more than power generation alone. The solution is being developed to make distributed energy systems easier to monitor and manage by combining energy hardware with digital management capabilities.
Collaboration Behind the Innovation
RoboVolts has progressed through collaboration between Sleekabyte Technologies and CitiBIM Nigeria Limited. CitiBIM designed and developed the mobile solar generator system that provides the hardware foundation, while Sleekabyte has led the development of the digital layer, including the RoboVolts Energy Management System.
The project has also benefited from grant funding from Innovate UK and support through the ZE-Gen Technology Accelerator. This support has contributed to the project’s progression through research, feasibility, technology development, testing and validation.
Recognition and the Road Ahead
SME News’ Welsh Enterprise Awards recognise businesses and organisations across a range of industries. RoboVolts is featured in the official 2026 winners list and in the awards’ celebratory magazine. The next stage is to continue advancing the system and exploring how its combination of mobile solar generation, battery storage and energy management system can serve the needs of businesses and communities.
RoboVolts reflects Sleekabyte Technologies’ wider approach to innovation which is bringing digital technology and practical engineering together to address real-world challenges.
